Director of Finance Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • CPA designation required
  • 5–7 years of hospitality accounting experience required
  • 3–5 years of prior management experience required
  • Advanced skills in accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities

Director of Finance Preferred Background & Skills

  • Resort experience preferred
  • Proficiency with M3 accounting software valued

Director of Finance Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, procurement, payroll, tax, revenue, and capital planning
  • Prepare and analyze timely management reports and financial statements
  • Manage annual audits, tax compliance, and integrity of payroll processes
  • Establish and enforce internal controls and operational accounting standards
  • Analyze financial data to drive performance improvements and maximize profits
  • Collaborate with leadership and department heads on budgets and revenue strategy
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and purchasing teams
  • Ensure the security of financial data and information technology systems
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, guests, vendors, and internal stakeholders
