A mission-driven college preparatory high school is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and student-centered Director of Academic & Learning Support to lead and oversee systems that support students with diverse academic and learning needs.
This leadership role partners closely with students, families, faculty, counselors, and outside professionals to ensure students receive coordinated support that promotes academic success, wellness, belonging, and self-advocacy.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, emotional intelligence, intervention planning expertise, and the ability to navigate complex student situations with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Academic & Learning Support department
- Supervise Case Managers and Academic Success Coach
- Develop and strengthen intervention systems and student support programming
- Coordinate accommodations, testing support, and Return-to-Learn plans
- Support students experiencing academic, executive functioning, medical, or social-emotional challenges
- Partner with faculty, counselors, families, and outside professionals
- Lead Student Success Intervention Team (SSIT) meetings
- Monitor academic progress, intervention plans, and student reentry support
- Help foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment
- Analyze trends and student support data to improve programming
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree in Education, Counseling, School Psychology, Special Education, or related field preferred
- 5+ years supporting high school students with diverse learning needs
- Leadership experience within student support, counseling, learning services, or intervention systems
- Strong understanding of executive functioning, accommodations, adolescent development, and inclusive education
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with systems such as PowerSchool, Schoology, and Google Workspace preferred
