Clean Economy Project (CleanEcon) is a nonprofit policy initiative advancing transformative policy solutions that drive economic growth, shared prosperity, and a safe climate future. By modernizing outdated regulations and removing market barriers, we help make clean technologies the most affordable, scalable, and compelling way to power a growing economy.

Our work spans three core programmatic areas:

  • Clean Tech Commercialization – accelerating the deployment of next-generation energy technologies and strengthening the bridge between U.S. innovation and domestic implementation
  • 21st Century Grid Reform – modernizing how electricity is planned, financed, and delivered to meet rising energy demand
  • Data & Measurement – building the evidence base and analytical tools that track clean economy progress and inform policymakers, investors, and industry leaders

Position Summary

CleanEcon is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and execution-oriented Communications Project Manager to help elevate the organization’s public profile and amplify the impact of our work across media, digital, and live engagement channels.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role sits at the intersection of communications, marketing, media production, content strategy, and project management. The ideal candidate is an agile storyteller and multimedia creator who can transform complex policy and technical subject matter into compelling campaigns, digital content, visual narratives, and high-impact events.

This is a dynamic opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution, and wants to play a key role in shaping the voice and brand of a growing national organization.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing, Branding & Creative Campaigns

  • Develop compelling marketing and communications assets that strengthen CleanEcon’s brand visibility and audience engagement across digital and live platforms
  • Create visually engaging graphics, infographics, presentations, charts, and data visualizations that translate technical and policy-heavy content into accessible, shareable storytelling
  • Support integrated communications campaigns tied to major reports, policy initiatives, media moments, and organizational priorities
  • Help maintain and evolve CleanEcon’s visual identity across web, social, presentations, print collateral, and event materials
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external creative vendors on multimedia projects, campaign launches, and branded initiatives
  • Bring forward innovative content formats, creative concepts, and emerging digital trends to expand audience reach and engagement

Media, Video & Digital Content Production

  • Produce and edit modern short-form video content for social media, presentations, events, and digital campaigns
  • Capture and repurpose event footage, interviews, and live moments into engaging post-event media assets, clips, reels, and recap content
  • Assist with podcast, webinar, livestream, and multimedia production initiatives as organizational needs evolve
  • Coordinate with external media, design, and production partners to ensure timely execution of communications projects

Writing & Editorial Content Development

  • Draft blogs, op-eds, press materials, talking points, newsletters, one-pagers, speeches, executive summaries, and digital copy in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Translate research reports, policy analysis, and technical content into audience-friendly narratives tailored for policymakers, media, industry leaders, and the public
  • Develop compelling messaging frameworks and derivative content across multiple communications channels

Social Media & Audience Engagement

  • Manage and grow CleanEcon’s digital presence through strategic social media storytelling and audience engagement
  • Write, schedule, and optimize platform-specific content across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and emerging channels
  • Build creative content series, social campaigns, carousels, and multi-post formats that maximize the visibility and longevity of reports, events, and thought leadership content
  • Monitor communications analytics and engagement trends to help refine messaging and content strategy

Events, Convenings & Project Management

  • Lead project management and execution for in-person and virtual events including Hill briefings, conferences, partner dinners, webinars, stakeholder convenings, and panel discussions
  • Manage event logistics from concept to completion, including timelines, vendor coordination, speaker communications, run-of-show development, AV coordination, registration, branded collateral, and post-event follow-up
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of communications deliverables tied to organizational initiatives and external engagements
  • Translate live events into high-performing digital content and media opportunities that extend audience reach beyond the event itself

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public affairs, media, digital content, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and creatively under deadline
  • Demonstrated experience with graphic design, multimedia content creation, video editing, and digital storytelling using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content development, and audience engagement best practices
  • Experience managing projects and events from planning through execution, including coordination across multiple stakeholders and timelines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently, think strategically, and proactively contribute ideas and solutions
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively alongside senior leaders, policy experts, media partners, and external stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience translating technical, policy, scientific, or research-driven content for non-expert audiences
  • Familiarity with energy policy, grid modernization, climate tech, clean energy innovation, or related sectors
  • Experience supporting media relations, communications campaigns, or brand-building initiatives
