Litigation Associate Requirements & Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active New York Bar admission
• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience
• Insurance defense, personal injury, or labor law experience strongly preferred
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage legal files
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills

Litigation Associate Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience handling premises liability or construction-related litigation
• Background in direct client communications and strategy development

Litigation Associate Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from inception to resolution
• Conduct and defend depositions, attend court appearances, hearings, conferences, and oral arguments
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and summary judgment motions
• Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
• Develop case strategy and provide evaluations
• Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, settlement, and trial
• Maintain accurate billing records and ensure timely client reporting
