We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Field Engineer to bridge the gap between engineering and production in a fast-paced shipyard environment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting the construction of complex vessels from concept through delivery.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of shipyard new-build experience
  • At least 5 years in a craft management or supervisory role
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with ShipConstructor or similar software
  • Strong knowledge of piping, electrical, and structural vessel systems
  • Ability to interpret and apply ABS and USCG regulations
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Must Haves:

  • Develop and continuously refine vessel build strategies to improve production efficiency
  • Translate design intent into actionable field execution plans for production teams
  • Lead real-time troubleshooting of discrepancies between design drawings and field conditions
  • Oversee system routing validation for piping, electrical, and mechanical installations
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings to reflect field modifications accurately
  • Coordinate directly with craft labor and supervisors to ensure proper system installation sequencing
  • Support commissioning activities with on-site technical expertise
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce rework and optimize workflows

Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience with NC nesting programs and template development
  • Familiarity with shipyard production workflows and safety protocols
  • Experience working on hybrid or electric vessel systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage drawing revisions and updates
  • Background in material sourcing and procurement coordination
