The Bar Manager oversees all aspects of bar operations. This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of beverage service, ensuring consistency in guest experience, managing staff performance, controlling costs, and supporting overall restaurant operations. The Bar Manager will work closely with the General Managers and Ownership to the company's reputation for quality, hospitality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Service:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the bars at both locations.
  • Ensure consistent beverage preparation and presentation standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the bar setup and breakdown for service.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs for bar service across both locations.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bartenders/mixologists.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance evaluations to bar staff.
  • Cross-train staff to ensure flexibility between locations.
  • Educate FOH staff on all drink menu information so they are able to describe the items to guests and craft all beverages if necessary.

Menu Development & Guest Experience:

  • Collaborate with leadership on seasonal cocktail menus, specials, and beverage programs.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and bring innovative beverage ideas.
  • Educate staff on menu items, pairings, and guest service standards.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and handle escalated service issues.

Inventory & Financial Management:

  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of beer, wine, spirits, and bar supplies.
  • Track costs, minimize waste, and ensure the profitability of the bar program.
  • Monitor pour costs and adjust purchasing or pricing strategies as needed.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate favorable pricing.

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with state and local liquor laws, health codes, and company policies.
  • Implement responsible alcohol service training and maintain required certifications.
  • Maintain consistent quality and brand standards across both locations.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work with General Managers to align bar operations with overall restaurant performance.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and FOH teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager, Beverage Manager, or similar leadership role in hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and bar operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and locations effectively.
  • Experience with inventory management and cost controls.
  • ServSafe Alcohol/BASSET certification (or ability to obtain).
