Project Architect – Carlsbad, CA or Jacksonville, FL

Project Architect Requirements & Qualifications

  • Registered Architect (required)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with construction documentation on large-scale projects ($30M–$150M)
  • Strong technical knowledge across civil, structural, MEP, and low-voltage systems
  • Proficiency with Revit (required); familiarity with Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, SpecsIntact, and MS Office
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) projects and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) preferred
  • Ability to travel 20–30% as needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass required background checks

Project Architect Preferred Background & Skills

  • NCARB certification
  • Experience with SpecsIntact and federal project delivery
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

Project Architect Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multi-discipline project teams throughout all phases
  • Develop schematic layouts, preliminary designs, and detailed drawings
  • Oversee and review construction documentation and construction administration tasks
  • Participate in design reviews with clients and federal agencies, ensuring code compliance
  • Serve as the main client contact for major projects and manage client relationships
  • Write and edit architectural specifications, supporting QA/QC and technical review efforts
  • Collaborate with consultants on project changes, RFIs, and addenda
