A full-service business and litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support its Labor & Employment practice in Chicago. This hybrid role offers a collaborative environment, strong firm culture, and exposure to sophisticated employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to Labor & Employment attorneys
  • Manage calendars, schedule depositions, meetings, and travel
  • Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical)
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
  • Handle e-filings in state and federal courts
  • Track and calendar court deadlines
  • File with agencies including EEOC, NLRB, and state human rights commissions
  • Open new matters, run conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
  • Submit expenses and invoices

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of legal assistant experience
  • Prior litigation experience in a law firm required
  • Experience with Labor & Employment law strongly preferred
  • Experience with state and federal court filings required
  • Familiarity with EEOC, NLRB, or similar agency filings preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines
