Our established and highly regarded Vail Valley client is seeking their next Restaurant Sous Chef.

THIS IS A 10-MONTH-A-YEAR POSITION, BUT YOU ARE PAID FOR 12 MONTHS A YEAR

The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef with managing food quality through leadership by promoting an atmosphere that motivates and recognizes the back-of-house team members.

Restaurant Sous Chef Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Supervising staff to conform to all standards and regulations
  • Interview, train, and develop the back-of-house staff members
  • Coach/counsel, resolve problems, and empower the staff with open communication
  • Responsible for operating a profitable restaurant
  • Manage and operate the kitchen within budget to include labor, purchasing, and production

Restaurant Sous Chef Qualifications:

  • Two plus years of culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant
  • Attention to detail, well organized, and able to multi-task
  • Has personal initiative, action, and results-oriented
  • Interpersonal and motivational skills, ability to effectively supervise and instill cooperation
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
