Wholesale Seafood General Manager

This New England-based company strives to provide the best possible experience for its customers while offering the freshest seafood at the best prices. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team of buyers, as well as a proven track record of negotiating favorable terms with vendors.

Wholesale Seafood General Manager Responsibilities

Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Develop strong relationships with customers and identify new business opportunities
Manage a team of account managers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
Create and maintain an efficient and effective wholesale operations infrastructure, including but not limited to order processing, customer service, logistics, and accounting
Analyze data and market trends to make recommendations on product assortment, inventory levels, and reordering
Negotiate terms of sale and contracts with vendors, suppliers, and customers
Prepare and manage the departmental budget, ensuring that expenditures are within allocated limits

Wholesale Seafood General Manager Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree is highly preferred
3 to 5 years experience in wholesale management, sales, or related role
Proven track record of achieving quotas and targets
Strong negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key accounts
Experience managing a team of salespeople
In-depth knowledge of the product, industry, and market trends
Technologically savvy
