The Role
We're seeking a full-time Legal Billing Specialist to join our clients high-volume Billing Department in Uniondale. You'll own timely, accurate, and guideline-compliant invoicing for a large portfolio of insurance defense matters.
What You'll Do
• Prepare and process monthly and quarterly client invoices
• Review client and carrier billing guidelines and make sure every invoice complies
• Submit and monitor e-billed invoices; resolve rejections, reductions, and discrepancies quickly
• Research and resolve billing issues in partnership with partners, legal assistants, and billing staff
• Track delayed payments and follow up with clients
• Handle client/matter setup and troubleshoot time entry issues in e-billing platforms
What You Bring
Required
• 2+ years of billing experience
• Working knowledge of billing processes: invoice formatting, timekeeper allocations, paperless workflows
• Hands-on experience with electronic billing platforms
• Basic proficiency in Excel and Word
• Accuracy and speed under deadline pressure
• Strong communication skills with attorneys, staff, and client contacts
• Availability for extended hours during billing cycles
Preferred
• Law firm billing experience (highly preferred)
• Experience with legal time & billing software
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Compensation & Benefits
$55,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, friendly team.
