Assistant General Manager – West Palm Beach, FL

Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager in a fine dining environment
- Strong working knowledge of TOAST POS system
- Experience in restaurant event management
- Ability to analyze P&L, inventory, and cost controls
- Excellent communication skills and experience leading pre-shift meetings
- Expertise in fine dining steps of service
Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Knowledge or experience with Mediterranean cuisine
- Familiarity with restaurant scheduling software such as 7shifts
- Wine knowledge or willingness to develop proficiency in wine service and recommendations
Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Actively manage and engage on the dining room floor during service, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and direct resolution of guest concerns
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations including service pacing, staffing adjustments, and management of VIP, regular, and media guests
- Lead, train, and coach FOH team members with real-time feedback and ongoing development
- Manage scheduling, staff hiring recommendations, and shift coverage proactively
- Maintain wine and beverage program knowledge, assist guests with selections, and oversee bar operations until dedicated leadership is established
- Administer operational systems such as Toast and 7shifts, including troubleshooting and programming updates
- Oversee inventory management, vendor follow-up, and facility maintenance to ensure smooth restaurant operations
- Prepare and submit nightly management reports summarizing service outcomes, guest feedback, staffing issues, and operational notes
This role requires a proactive, organized leader who is comfortable making independent decisions and maintaining close communication with the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager will be a visible presence on the floor, balancing hands-on leadership with administrative responsibilities to support high-quality service in a distinctive dining setting.
Candidates must be physically able to engage fully in restaurant service duties as needed.
