A premier full-service convention hotel in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the engineering and maintenance operations of this large-scale property. With extensive guest accommodations, significant meeting and event space, and multiple food and beverage outlets, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality engineering leader.

Director of Engineering Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering/maintenance experience, preferably in a large hotel or resort
  • Previous Engineering leadership/management experience required
  • Experience with 500+ guest rooms; large convention hotel experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs
  • Capital project and renovation experience
  • Strong knowledge of fire/life-safety systems, building codes, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience leading and developing a large engineering team
  • Strong budgeting, vendor, and contractor management experience

Director of Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Engineering and Maintenance operations for the property
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure guestrooms, meeting spaces, public areas, F&B outlets, and back-of-house areas are properly maintained
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team while maintaining accountability and productivity
  • Manage engineering budgets, capital projects, contractors, and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and building regulations
  • Respond to emergency maintenance and building-system issues
  • Partner with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure a safe, well-maintained property and exceptional guest experience
