Assistant Project Manager – South Hampton, NH

Assistant Project Manager Benefits & Compensation

Assistant Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project engineering, coordination, or assistant project management within heavy civil, excavation, utilities, site development, or related construction
  • Working knowledge of civil construction plans, specifications, and documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related project management software; Procore experience is a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable collaborating with both office and field teams
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local project sites as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

Assistant Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience specifically in road construction, utility installation, or sitework for commercial, municipal, or residential projects
  • Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management platforms

Assistant Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support project managers in planning and executing heavy civil and site development projects
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements to ensure compliance
  • Prepare and track essential project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders
  • Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, forecasting, and budget management tasks
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and field resources
  • Communicate regularly with superintendents, foremen, and stakeholders regarding project status, progress, and challenges
  • Track project milestones, outstanding items, and closeout documentation
  • Help identify and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records
