We provide comprehensive financial management services to high-net-worth clients in the entertainment industry, including musicians, actors, athletes, and other public figures. We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, bill pay, and financial reporting for a portfolio of individual and loan-out entity clients, while managing and mentoring a team of staff accountants. This role requires discretion, accuracy, and comfort working with complex, high-volume personal and business finances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including personal households, loan-out corporations, and touring/production entities
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of staff accountants and bookkeepers
  • Review and approve accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment scheduling, and high-volume bill pay for personal and business expenses
  • Oversee monthly reconciliation of bank, credit card, and investment accounts
  • Review and finalize general ledgers, chart of accounts, and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for accuracy prior to client/management delivery
  • Oversee tracking and categorization of royalty income, touring revenue, endorsement deals, and other entertainment-specific income streams
  • Lead budget preparation and cash flow forecasting for clients (tour budgets, production budgets, personal spending plans)
  • Serve as primary point of coordination with tax preparers, attorneys, and outside CPAs during tax season and audits
  • Oversee 1099 preparation, W-9 tracking, and vendor documentation compliance
  • Oversee payroll processing for personal staff (assistants, household staff, tour personnel) where applicable
  • Ensure meticulous, audit-ready records given the sensitivity and visibility of client finances
  • Serve as a key point of contact for client and management team inquiries regarding account status, spending, and reporting
  • Identify process improvements and help standardize procedures across the accounting team
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding client financial and personal information

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, including prior supervisory or team-lead experience (public accounting, business management, or family office experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Datafaction/AXIS, or similar business management platforms)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts, staff, and shifting priorities under deadline pressure

Preferred:

  • Experience in entertainment business management, talent agencies, or high-net-worth individual accounting
  • CPA
  • Familiarity with royalty statements, touring finances, or loan-out corporation structures
  • Experience with trust accounting or fiduciary responsibilities

Personal Attributes

  • Absolute discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client and celebrity information
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with clients, management teams, agents, and outside advisors
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-touch service environment
  • Trustworthy, ethical, and unflappable under pressure
