Quality Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of aerospace quality experience with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and related quality management systems.
  • Experience with standard inspection equipment and techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in QMS management, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing documents, blueprints, and job travelers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as JobBOSS2, E2, ProShop, or similar.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and office software skills.

  • Comfortable prioritizing and multitasking in a dynamic environment.

Quality Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system (QMS), ensuring readiness for audits and compliance with industry standards.
  • Oversee all inspection activities, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections, and manage calibration and proper use of measurement tools.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances, driving closure and documenting preventative solutions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer and supplier quality issues, supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze and report on key quality metrics, using data to guide improvement efforts and communicate results to leadership.
  • Supervise, train, and develop quality inspectors and technicians, promoting best practices and a culture of accountability.
