Are you ready to relocate to Miami, Florida? Join a growing transportation and logistics provider as the Terminal Maintenance & Yard Operations Manager, overseeing the fleet readiness, maintenance execution, and terminal discipline for a high-volume OTR operation. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a diverse team and having direct impact on the reliability and operational excellence of more than 100 trucks. This job is in Miami, Florida and requires full time relocation.

Terminal Maintenance & Yard Operations Manager Benefits & Compensation

Terminal Maintenance & Yard Operations Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be willing to relocate full time to Miami, Florida
  • Experience managing mechanics or maintenance teams (not drivers or warehouse staff)
  • Hands-on background in tractor and dry van trailer maintenance
  • Experience in OTR trucking, heavy equipment, or high-volume fleet operations
  • Proven authority for equipment release decisions
  • Background working with or managing vendors (e.g., Ryder, Penske)
  • Strong understanding of dry van systems, preventive/corrective maintenance, and DOT compliance standards
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Proficient with Excel, maintenance platforms, and reporting dashboards

Terminal Maintenance & Yard Operations Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead daily yard and maintenance operations, directly overseeing mechanic productivity and repair prioritization
  • Maintain full authority over fleet release, ensuring all equipment meets safety and inspection standards
  • Drive operational discipline through structured yard management, staging, and enforcement of procedures
  • Monitor and improve fleet performance metrics, including equipment uptime, breakdown frequency, and repair turnaround
  • Manage vendor relationships, holding external shops and service providers accountable for timelines and cost efficiency
  • Control inventory, purchasing, and usage of parts, aligned with budget and uptime goals
  • Set clear priorities for staff, enforce standards, and maintain a clean, safe yard environment
