Chef de Cuisine Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in upscale casual restaurants or scratch kitchens.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing high-performing kitchen teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with cooking appliances and culinary techniques.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, cost of goods, and labor.
  • Effective inventory and par-level management.
  • State-required food safety certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong people management and organization skills.
  • Motivated, quality-driven, and able to communicate effectively in English.

Chef de Cuisine Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience working in hospitality-driven, brand-standard environments.
  • Proven ability to ensure health inspection excellence.
  • History of collaborating with front-of-house and back-of-house teams for operational success.

Chef de Cuisine Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring all culinary offerings consistently meet or exceed brand standards.
  • Maintain strict recipe adherence, delivering consistently high guest food sentiment scores.
  • Curate par levels, manage inventory, and order ingredients with a commitment to quality.
  • Hire, train, develop, and retain exceptional back-of-house staff.
  • Drive operational targets through effective delegation and management of BOH and FOH teams.
  • Ensure all health and safety standards are rigorously upheld, striving for top food safety ratings.
