Operations Manager (Events & Catering) – Staten Island, NY

Operations Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in operations, event management, or hospitality leadership (catering, banquet, or venue experience preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Background in inventory management, staff scheduling, budgeting, and vendor relations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and a commitment to exceptional service standards
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Operations Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Proficiency with event management software or related systems
Operations Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, execution, and breakdown of multiple events ranging from 50 to 400 guests
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise front- and back-of-house staff; manage scheduling based on business needs
- Conduct daily inventory checks, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless event delivery
- Collaborate with sales and event teams to review Banquet Event Orders; act as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors during events
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the venue, ensuring all operational and service standards are met
- Enforce compliance with company SOPs, health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Prepare operational reports related to staffing, inventory, and performance, identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement
