Kitchen Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-volume institutional kitchen serving approximately

1,160 meals daily

Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Kitchen Manager or Chef in high-volume institutional kitchens
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and service, ensuring meals are delivered on time with correct portioning and consistent quality
  • Implement and enforce standardized recipes, batch cooking, and station assembly lines according to Kitchen Recipe Guide and SOPs
  • Build and manage weekly staff schedules compliant with California meal and rest break laws; document and enforce breaks consistently
  • Supervise, train, and develop kitchen staff, maintaining fairness and accountability in line with company policies
  • Manage food safety including HACCP logs, temperature monitoring, and sanitation standards; maintain inspection readiness for health audits
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory control, and waste tracking to meet food cost targets and promptly address variances
  • Lead from the floor during production and service; maintain equipment care and coordinate maintenance and repairs
  • Support onboarding of new staff using established procedures and recipe documentation
