General Manager – Luxury Boutique Hotel & Executive Hospitality
Location: High Point, NC
Salary: $130,000–$135,000 + 17% annual bonus
Relocation: Assistance may be available
We are seeking an experienced Luxury Hotel General Manager to lead an intimate boutique hotel and executive hospitality operation within a nationally recognized university community.
This is a unique alternative to the traditional hotel GM lifestyle. The property serves a highly curated guest base that includes university leadership, prospective students and families, VIP visitors, speakers, entertainers, athletic programs, executives, conference attendees, and special-event guests.
Because of the property's intimate size and university setting, the General Manager can focus on personalized hospitality, guest relationships, leadership, and service excellence rather than the volume of a large traditional hotel.
The operating schedule also offers an attractive quality-of-life component. The position is predominantly Monday through Friday and follows the rhythm of the university calendar, creating more predictable periods of activity and time away than typically found in hotel operations. Some evenings and weekends will be required for major events, VIP visits, and university functions. The property is also undergoing approximately $20 million in renovations, giving the incoming General Manager an opportunity to help guide its next chapter.
What You'll Lead
- Overall hotel operations and guest experience
- Luxury service standards and VIP hospitality
- Department heads and property leadership team
- Hotel P&L, budgeting, forecasting, labor, and cost controls
- Food & beverage, conferences, events, and executive hospitality
- Relationships with senior university and client leadership
- Operational improvements and renovation initiatives
- A culture centered on professionalism, accountability, discretion, service, and attention to detail
What We're Looking For
This is not a first-time GM opportunity. We are seeking an established hospitality leader with:
- Current or recent General Manager experience in a luxury, upper-upscale, boutique, lifestyle, resort, or full-service hotel
- Strong P&L and financial management experience
- Experience leading department heads and developing teams
- Food & beverage, banquet, catering, or event exposure
- Strong luxury guest-service and service-recovery experience
- Polished executive presence and strong communication skills
- Comfort interacting with executives, VIPs, families, speakers, entertainers, and community leaders
- A leadership style built around service, accountability, professionalism, respect, and team development
- Willingness to relocate to and become part of the High Point community
Experience with boutique hotels, private clubs, executive conference centers, university hospitality, luxury resorts, VIP environments, or hotel renovations is especially attractive.
Compensation & Quality of Life
- $125,000–$135,000 base salary
- 17% annual bonus potential
- Comprehensive benefits
- Paid time off
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Predominantly Monday–Friday leadership schedule
- Operating calendar influenced by the university academic schedule
Candidates slightly above the stated base range may still be considered when their luxury hospitality experience strongly aligns with the position.
