We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the opening leadership team of an exciting new upscale restaurant in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.

This is a unique opportunity to get involved with a new restaurant opening (NRO) from the ground up and play an important role in establishing the team, culture, service standards, and day-to-day operations.

We are looking for a strong, hands-on restaurant leader who understands elevated hospitality, enjoys developing great teams, and thrives in a high-quality, guest-focused environment.

What You'll Do

• Partner closely with the General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations
• Help recruit, train, develop, and motivate the opening team
• Support all aspects of the new restaurant opening and pre-opening process
• Establish and maintain high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, and execution
• Lead by example on the floor and remain highly visible and engaged with guests and employees
• Coach and develop front-of-house team members and supervisors
• Assist with scheduling, labor management, inventory, and operational controls
• Handle guest concerns professionally and create memorable dining experiences
• Help drive sales while maintaining appropriate labor and operating costs
• Ensure company policies, procedures, food safety, and sanitation standards are consistently followed
• Work collaboratively with culinary leadership to provide a seamless guest experience

What We're Looking For

• Previous restaurant management experience, ideally as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role
• Experience in an upscale, polished casual, chef-driven, or high-volume full-service restaurant strongly preferred
• Strong front-of-house leadership and guest-service skills
• Proven ability to train, coach, and develop restaurant teams
• A hands-on leadership style with a strong floor presence
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with a new restaurant opening is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work the schedule required of a restaurant leadership position, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Compensation

$75,000 annual salary
