HVAC Installation Manager

Position Overview
The HVAC Installation Manager is responsible for leading the residential HVAC installation department while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the company's quality standards. This leadership role oversees installation teams, scheduling, project execution, training, and departmental performance while working closely with sales, service, and operations.
Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who can develop people, improve processes, solve field challenges, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from project kickoff through completion.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the residential HVAC installation department.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Lead Installers, Installers, and Apprentices.
- Schedule installation crews and allocate labor to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
- Conduct jobsite visits to inspect workmanship and provide coaching.
- Resolve installation challenges and provide technical support for field teams.
- Coordinate with sales, project management, purchasing, and service departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor labor efficiency, project profitability, and departmental KPIs.
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train installation personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, manufacturer, and local code requirements.
- Oversee fleet, equipment, inventory, and tool management.
- Address customer concerns professionally and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, efficiency, and quality.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- 3+ years of installation leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proven experience leading multiple installation crews.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems including:
- Furnaces
- Air conditioners
- Heat pumps
- Mini-split systems
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Experience managing labor productivity and project performance.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Comfortable using tablets, scheduling software, and mobile technology.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Stable work history with demonstrated leadership progression.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- NATE Certification
- Residential boiler installation experience
- Light commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field management software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience managing inventory and warehouse operations
