Plant Manager – Steel experience

Plant Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in custom fabrication, rebar, structural steel, or a similar, project-driven operation
  • Strong background in production planning, employee development, and operational improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt, communicate, and manage changing priorities
  • Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance

Plant Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in rebar or structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or heavy/industrial construction
  • Ability to lead by example and build trust on the production floor with a team that has been there through it all (legacy team members)
  • Ability to learn from direct reports to gain "why" knowledge.
  • Data-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset

Plant Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the fabrication operation, including safety, quality, productivity, and scheduling of multiple jobs simueltaneously
  • Support, coach, and develop production employees while building future supervisors and leaders
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and on-time shipping coordination
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver project-based solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Monitor, measure, and report success through KPIs and clearly defined operational goals
