Territory Sales Representative – Northern New Jersey / New York Metropolitan Area
A growing manufacturer in the commercial lighting industry is seeking a territory sales professional to help shape the future of its brand and drive revenue growth across an established and expanding portfolio. Territory Sales Representative Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the lighting industry
- Experience with commercial, architectural, or wholesale lighting products
- Strong, established network within the lighting sector
- Proven record of revenue growth, new business development, and account expansion
- Experience selling through manufacturers, distributors, rep agencies, contractors, or related channels
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to operate independently
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory
Territory Sales Representative Preferred Background & Skills
- Previous roles with lighting manufacturers, commercial or architectural lighting firms, or rep agencies
- Established relationships with national and regional lighting representatives, electrical distributors, contractors, architects, designers, or specifiers
- Demonstrated success generating new business and managing a defined territory
- Executive presence and persuasive, influential approach
Territory Sales Representative Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage and expand a portfolio of existing customer accounts across Northern New Jersey and the New York metro area
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and leveraging industry relationships
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with distributors, contractors, architects, designers, and channel partners
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure successful project execution
- Track pipeline activity, report on territory performance, and meet or exceed annual sales targets
