Superintendent Requirements & Qualifications

  • Journeyman Plumber License from Hawaii or any U.S. state (actively pursuing Hawaii licensure if out-of-state)
  • 8+ years of supervisory experience in plumbing or mechanical trades
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
  • OSHA 30 certification (required)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects

Superintendent Preferred Background & Skills

  • Superintendent certification (CCER) preferred
  • Project management and job costing experience
  • Strong team leadership and performance evaluation skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle challenges on-site
  • Forward-thinking and adept at contingency planning

Superintendent Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations across multiple job sites
  • Supervise foremen, technicians, and craft workers
  • Coordinate schedules, inspections, subcontractors, and site logistics
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and code requirements
  • Manage project timelines, costs, and documentation
  • Represent the company in project meetings and direct client interactions
  • Resolve on-site productivity and workflow challenges
  • Support apprenticeship training and skills development
