Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO) – Kings Bay Base, GA

Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO) Benefits & Compensation

  • $90,000–$125,000 annual salary, based on experience

Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO) Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience in a DoD/federal space
  • 5+ years in construction safety management at the jobsite level (DoD project experience)
  • Documented safety training averaging at least 24 hours annually over the past 5 years
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications (from within the last 5 years)
  • Competent person training/experience required in fall protection, confined space, electrical, trenching/excavation, PPE, and scaffolding
  • A combination of relevant work experience, hands-on training, and/or recognized occupational safety certification

Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO) Preferred Background & Skills

  • Additional certifications such as CHST, OHST, or ASP
  • Experience working with NAVFAC or USACE clients and EM 385 1-1 requirements
  • Experience using Viewpoint or RMS/QCS software

Construction Site Safety Manager/Trainer (SSHO) Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage and enforce jobsite safety plans to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Oversee daily field operations, coordinating closely with project teams for safe, efficient execution
  • Implement and monitor all job-specific safety requirements and internal safety management systems
  • Maintain strict adherence to EM-385, OSHA regulations, and project-specific Accident Prevention Plan
  • Provide ongoing guidance, training, and mentorship to site safety personnel and teams
  • Support a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement at every stage of the project

This is an on-site position primarily based at Kings Bay Naval Base (St. Mary’s, GA) and may require relocation or travel. All candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass federal background and drug screenings for access to military installations.
