R&D Engineer – Agricultural Components

A well-established manufacturer in the agricultural equipment sector is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to join its growing team. Working under the guidance of the Director of R&D, this role focuses on designing, testing, and refining aftermarket components for agricultural machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and reverse-engineer components for agricultural equipment.
  • Lead product validation efforts to ensure performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to transition designs into production smoothly.
  • Evaluate new product opportunities and conduct feasibility reviews.
  • Provide technical support across departments and mentor junior team members.
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop and refine components.
  • Manage project timelines and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of product design and development experience.
  • Strong background in castings, fabrications, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO; familiarity with 3D printing and reverse engineering tools.
  • Deep understanding of metallurgy, particularly carbon steels and heat treatment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • FEA tools and mechanical system analysis.
  • Experience with automation, tolerance stack-up, and complex assemblies.
  • Hands-on knowledge of agricultural machinery or similar equipment.
