General Manager – Cafe Concept Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, restaurants, cafés, food retail, or similar environments
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop a successful team
  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in budgeting, cost control, labor management, sales analysis, and profitability improvement
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory management, and POS systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on, visible leadership style with a passion for engaging both team members and guests
  • Ability to balance strategic business objectives with the operational details of daily execution

General Manager – Cafe Concept Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to hospitality and service excellence
  • Oversee daily operations including scheduling, facility standards, cleanliness, maintenance, and inventory control
  • Create and uphold a positive, accountable culture focused on teamwork and guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and analyze sales and financial metrics, managing labor, cost, and inventory budgets
  • Partner with culinary and marketing teams to launch seasonal promotions and in-store initiatives
  • Maintain rigorous food, beverage, service, and presentation standards
  • Oversee all cash handling, POS functions, invoice reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with company leadership on annual budgets, sales targets, and operational improvements
