Executive Chef Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a prestigious luxury private country club in the Washington, DC area. Serving more than 600 members, the club features multiple dining outlets, including the main dining room, Men's Lounge, Pool Grill, and extensive banquet and private event operations, with approximately $5 million in annual F&B revenue.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, hands-on culinary leader with strong financial acumen, exceptional team-building skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality and member engagement.

Executive Chef Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all culinary operations across multiple outlets, including member dining, Men's Lounge, Pool Grill, banquets, weddings, and special events.
• Develop innovative menus while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, consistency, and service.
• Maintain a visible presence in the dining room, regularly interacting with members, building relationships, and understanding their preferences.
• Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a talented culinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
• Manage all financial aspects of the culinary operation, including budgeting, forecasting, food and labor costs, purchasing, inventory, and profitability.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and financial results.
• Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to deliver an exceptional and consistent member experience.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience, preferably as an Executive Chef in a luxury private club, country club, or upscale hospitality environment.
• Experience overseeing multiple outlets, significant banquet operations, and high-volume food and beverage programs.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Proven ability to recruit, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing culinary teams.
• Exceptional culinary creativity, menu development, and operational expertise.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine appreciation for private club culture.
• A hands-on, approachable leadership style and a passion for engaging with members and guests.
