We are partnering with a growing global organization to identify an experienced Microsoft 365 & Identity Engineer to join its expanding Technology team in the Chicago western suburbs.

This role will be responsible for administering, securing, supporting, and optimizing an enterprise Microsoft 365 and identity environment. The position spans Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, identity governance, compliance, and automation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on Microsoft cloud experience with the ability to work across both collaboration and identity technologies. You do not need to be the expert in every component of the Microsoft ecosystem, but you should have strong fundamentals, a desire to learn, and the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.

Microsoft 365 & Identity Engineer Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 tenant services.
• Configure and maintain Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, roles, and access controls.
• Support PIM, RBAC, SSO, and identity governance.
• Manage SharePoint Online sites, permissions, libraries, metadata, and governance.
• Support Teams collaboration, guest access, external sharing, conferencing, and related policies.
• Maintain OneDrive sharing, synchronization, retention, and protection settings.
• Support Microsoft Purview, DLP, information protection, retention, and compliance initiatives.
• Automate Microsoft 365 and identity administration using PowerShell and Power Automate.
• Monitor platform availability, service health, utilization, security, and user experience.
• Troubleshoot complex Microsoft cloud, collaboration, and identity issues.
• Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, application, and business teams.
• Collaborate with Technology teams across multiple global regions to maintain standards and share best practices.

Microsoft 365 & Identity Engineer Qualifications:

• 3 to 5+ years of Microsoft 365 administration, cloud collaboration, identity, or related enterprise Microsoft experience.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
• Hands-on Microsoft Entra ID experience.
• Experience with Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and/or SharePoint Online.
• Knowledge of Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and access management.
• Experience with PowerShell or Microsoft cloud automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Purview, PIM, RBAC, SSO, Power Automate, Intune, Defender, or similar Microsoft technologies is highly valued.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
