Senior Project Manager, Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Construction

Location: Remote with 50% travel throughout Southeast U.S. (multiple states; flexible within regional markets)

Employment type: Full time; travel package included

Industry: Mission-critical and hyperscale data center electrical construction

About the Company

Our client is a growing electrical contractor that builds complex industrial, mission-critical and hyperscale data center projects across the Southeast. The company is known for strong field execution and puts safety, quality and its people first. As the hyperscale market expands, it is adding experienced leaders who can manage fast-moving, technically demanding work with precision and consistency.

Position Summary

This senior project management role works at the program level, not on a single project. The Senior Project Manager will run multiple phases, buildings or workstreams within a hyperscale data center program, with responsibility for schedule, cost and execution across all of them.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not an administrative one. The Senior PM leads the work from design and buyout through procurement, field execution, commissioning support and closeout. Along the way, they keep the Project Executive, client, general contractor and field leadership aligned. They will also help build repeatable systems and better planning as the company's mission-critical work grows.

Key Responsibilities

Program Execution

  • Manage multiple workstreams or phases within a hyperscale program, keeping them in line with the overall schedule, milestones and resource plans.
  • Coordinate deliverables across estimating, procurement, VDC/BIM, engineering, field operations, commissioning and client stakeholders.
  • Put standard workflows, tracking tools and reporting in place so programs can be delivered consistently and at scale.

Project Leadership

  • Run day-to-day operations for assigned phases, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, buyout, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Write clear scopes of work, change orders, procurement packages and communication plans that protect the company's commercial position.
  • Keep tight control of cost and risk through accurate, timely forecasting and early action on emerging issues.

Design and Preconstruction

  • Work with clients, engineers, VDC and the Project Executive to turn conceptual designs into buildable plans.
  • Support design development, constructability reviews, long-lead material strategy and construction sequencing.
  • Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates and scope narratives for future phases and new work.

Client and GC Relationships

  • Act as a main project-level contact for mission-critical owners, general contractors and trade partners.
  • Lead coordination meetings, progress reviews and program reporting with a clear, solutions-focused approach.
  • Build trusted relationships through technical knowledge and consistent performance.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support superintendents, project engineers and project coordinators across assigned phases.
  • Hold teams accountable for planning, communication, document control and staying on schedule.
  • Encourage proactive problem solving, high performance and continuous improvement.

Field Support and Operations

  • Make sure field teams have the materials, tools, information and labor they need to stay on the critical path.
  • Coordinate prefabrication, site logistics, material release schedules and commissioning readiness.
  • Enforce safety standards, quality control, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, testing and turnover documentation.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive project management experience in large commercial, industrial or mission-critical electrical construction.
  • Experience delivering hyperscale or mission-critical projects of $25M to $100M+, ideally in a multi-phase or program setting.
  • Strong financial skills in forecasting, buyout, margin management, cash flow and contract terms.
  • Proficiency with electrical estimating, scheduling and construction management software.
  • Solid technical knowledge of mission-critical electrical systems, including redundant A/B/C distribution, UPS/ESS, grounding and commissioning.
  • Strong communication skills, including leading meetings, aligning stakeholders and keeping everyone informed.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

What's Offered

  • Travel package included.
  • The chance to lead major data center programs central to a growing mission-critical business.
  • A high-performance team with strong field support and aligned leadership.
  • Competitive pay, room for career growth and a full benefits package.
  • A fast-moving environment where your leadership directly affects execution quality, team development and client relationships.
