Director of Facilities Requirements & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in multi-unit restaurant or retail environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site teams and vendors
  • Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment
  • HVAC/Refrigeration certification or equivalent technical training required
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., ServiceChannel, Corrigo, EkoTrak)
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, R&M cost management, and vendor negotiation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR screening
  • Willing and able to travel 25–40%

Director of Facilities Preferred Background & Skills

  • Background in organizations with $500M–$1B revenue and 200+ locations
  • Familiarity with mechanical codes and regulatory compliance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills — able to connect authentically with all roles from frontline staff to C-suite

Director of Facilities Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of 19+ facility coaches and technicians
  • Oversee maintenance for 200+ restaurant locations, balancing in-house and outsourced models
  • Drive cost-effective, efficient R&M operations and strategies
  • Analyze data to improve asset performance and reduce downtime
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service agreements
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical, state, and federal codes
  • Foster a positive, growth-oriented culture across all teams
