We are looking for an accomplished Venue General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a prominent, guest-centered destination in North Georgia. This role is ideal for a highly engaged operational leader who enjoys being present in the business, building strong teams, delivering memorable guest experiences, and improving overall performance. The Director will work closely with ownership and have meaningful influence over the operation and continued success of the property.

Venue General Manager Benefits and Compensation

• Base salary of $120,000–$140,000

• Executive-level leadership role with direct interaction and partnership with ownership

Venue General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive operations and leadership experience preferred

• Demonstrated success managing a guest-facing business such as an attraction, hospitality venue, resort, entertainment destination, private club, large event facility, or comparable operation

• Hands-on, highly visible leadership approach with a willingness to remain actively involved throughout the property

• Proven ability to lead multiple departments while establishing clear expectations and accountability for departmental leaders

• Strong financial understanding, including experience reviewing P&L statements, recognizing unfavorable trends, developing business cases, and identifying opportunities to strengthen profitability

• Ability to effectively balance revenue generation, expense control, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction

• Experience managing staffing needs, team development, employee training, and seasonal workforce planning

• Strong judgment and professionalism when managing escalated employee or guest concerns

• Ability to confidently lead the operation during emergencies, safety incidents, severe weather, and other unforeseen events

• Comfortable spending significant time outdoors, routinely walking the property, and navigating uneven terrain and inclines

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

• Must be comfortable providing year-round, on-site leadership, including occasional after-hours or on-call support when operational needs arise

• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain any required local alcohol-management permitting

Venue General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Previous leadership experience within a large-scale attraction, hospitality destination, resort, entertainment venue, outdoor recreation operation, or similarly complex guest-facing organization

• Experience overseeing functions such as retail merchandising, food and beverage, direct sales, marketing, and e-commerce

• Strong background in procurement and vendor management

• Experience preparing and managing operational budgets, forecasts, project pro formas, and financial performance-improvement plans

• Working knowledge of emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, life-safety protocols, and crisis-management procedures

• Experience partnering directly with owners, founders, or senior executive leaders

• Spanish-language capabilities are a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to additional operational technology and systems

• Composed and decisive leadership style, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations and make sound decisions under pressure
