Production Quality Lead – Detroit, MI

Production Quality Lead Requirements & Qualifications

  • Level II certification in ultrasonic testing (UT) required
  • Qualified to perform dry magnetic particle inspections (MPI)
  • Experience in manufacturing, saw, machine shop, material handling, inspection, or a related production environment
  • Strong ability to lead employees, assign work, set priorities, and follow up on daily production needs
  • Proficient in reading and understanding work orders, specifications, inspection requirements, measurements, and production documentation
  • Commitment to safety, quality, traceability, documentation, and housekeeping standards
  • Clear communicator with various departments across the organization

Production Quality Lead Preferred Background & Skills

  • Prior supervisory, lead, or coordinator experience in a production or manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with saw operations, milling equipment, mold die steel, and heavy material handling
  • Experience with production records and coordinating workflow across departments

Production Quality Lead Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and support teams in the saw and milling areas to meet production goals
  • Supervise employees cutting orders from mold die steel and milling large stock materials
  • Perform and verify UT and dry MPI inspections according to company and customer standards
  • Set daily work priorities and ensure smooth material flow between departments
  • Coach employees on safety, quality, equipment use, and procedures; conduct safety meetings and reinforce best practices
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and safety records while upholding high housekeeping standards
