Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a construction project manager with a general contractor or subcontractor
  • In-depth knowledge of modern construction procedures and materials
  • Strong project management skills and familiarity with quality and safety standards
  • Proficient with MS Office and construction/project management software
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Demonstrated team leadership and collaboration skills
  • BS/BA in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred

Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience coordinating with engineers, architects, and general contractors
  • Knowledge of metal roofing and siding projects
  • Background in both public and private sector construction
  • Experience with restoration or specialty fabrication considered a plus

Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, building owners, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage and process submittals, shop drawings, and samples
  • Oversee project material ordering, scheduling, logistics, and jobsite timelines
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate with superintendents and foremen to resolve issues
  • Ensure accuracy in monthly billing, manage change orders, and document “as built” changes
  • Lead project closeout, punch list completion, final inspections, and site cleanup
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement
