Project Scheduler – Electric Utility Transmission
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support major electric utility transmission projects. This remote position will focus on schedule development, maintenance, analysis, contractor schedule review, progress tracking, and project reporting.
The ideal candidate will have direct transmission line construction scheduling experience and strong hands-on expertise with Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed baseline project schedules aligned with scope, milestones, contractual requirements, and project objectives.
- Build, maintain, and update schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track actual progress and identify schedule deviations, risks, and potential delays.
- Analyze critical paths, float, dependencies, constraints, and schedule performance.
- Review contractor schedules for compliance, accuracy, and potential risks.
- Prepare lookahead schedules, milestone reports, critical path reports, and schedule narratives.
- Conduct schedule update meetings and communicate project status to project managers, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve scheduling issues and improve project outcomes.
- Support schedule variance analysis and corrective action planning.
- Maintain project reporting and documentation using Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional project scheduling experience.
- Direct electric utility T&D experience.
- Direct transmission line construction scheduling experience – required.
- Strong hands-on Primavera P6 experience – required.
- Experience building, baselining, updating, maintaining, and analyzing schedules in P6.
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
- Experience with progress measurement, schedule variance analysis, lookaheads, and critical path reporting.
- Ability to review contractor schedules and identify risks, conflicts, and deficiencies.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Substation project scheduling experience.
- Experience supporting large utility capital programs.
- Project controls or cost-control experience.
- PMP or other recognized project management certification.
Compensation & Benefits
- $120,000–$150,000 base salary, based on years and depth of relevant experience.
