The Application Engineer is tasked with putting the pieces together – you will work with the Customer and closely with the Sales and Engineering team to make sure the customer is getting what they've requested. The Application Engineer is also tasked with setting up the machine once it has arrived at the customers location.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program CNC machines (Swiss), develop manufacturing processes, and provide customer training in a manufacturing environment

  • Interpret part drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Perform time studies and first-part runoffs
  • Program, set up, and train customers on Citizen and Miyano CNC lathes, as well as CNC vertical and horizontal mills
  • Configure CNC programming and machine setups according to customer specifications
  • Provide customer support via phone and on-site visits
  • Align and interface bar feed units
  • Travel within the tri-state area (up to 50%), as well as domestically and internationally, as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience with CNC machines; Swiss screw machine experience for CNC lathes preferred
  • Swiss machining experience preferred
  • Experience with Citizen and Miyano equipment preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally (up to 50%) and domestically/internationally
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required

Work Schedule: 35-hour workweek, with additional hours as needed. This position reports to the office on a daily basis unless working at a customer location.
