We're seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to support quality management initiatives within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role maintains compliance with industry quality standards, coordinates audits, manages quality documentation, and drives continuous improvement across multiple facilities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about quality systems and process improvement, building strong relationships across cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and related QMS requirements
- Coordinate internal, third-party, supplier, and customer audits; prepare reports and support corrective/preventive action plans
- Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and SOPs
- Train employees and internal auditors on quality standards and best practices
- Manage document control and calibration programs
- Support MSA, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP activities
- Complete customer quality surveys and self-assessments
- Participate in cross-functional quality improvement initiatives and supplier quality programs with Purchasing
- Assist with corporate, customer, and special audits across facilities as needed
- Prepare reports on audit schedules, findings, and quality system performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
- 2+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality systems in manufacturing
- ISO 9001 experience required; IATF 16949 strongly preferred
- Knowledge of calibration, document control, audit management, and continuous improvement methods
- Familiarity with MSA, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic familiarity with AI tools beneficial
- Able to work safely around paints/chemicals with PPE; able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
