Construction Project Administrator

A leading commercial construction firm is seeking a skilled Construction Project Administrator to provide financial, administrative, and operational support for projects from award through closeout. Construction Project Administrator Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of construction project administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction accounting processes
  • Proficiency with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Familiarity with AIA billing, payment applications, and owner billing portals
  • Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
  • Experience with OCIP/CCIP administration
  • Understanding of construction contracts, lien waivers, bonds, and insurance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with construction ERP/accounting software (Sage 300 CRE, Vista, Foundation, Procore, CMiC, Viewpoint, or similar) preferred
  • Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills

Construction Project Administrator Preferred Background & Skills

  • Commercial construction contracting experience
  • Strong understanding of project cost accounting and job costing
  • Experience with subcontract administration and compliance
  • Ability to collaborate with project teams, finance, operations, subcontractors, and clients
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Construction Project Administrator Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage setup, documentation, and closeout of commercial construction projects
  • Prepare and process owner billing packages, payment applications, and certified payroll
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all project financial transactions and records
  • Track project milestones, insurance certificates, permits, and compliance documentation
  • Administer subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and contract modifications
  • Monitor project payments, collections, vendor invoices, and lien waivers
  • Support month-end close activities and assist with project budget tracking and reporting
