General Manager

A growing hospitality group is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead the opening and day-to-day operations of a new high-volume, chef-driven Mexican restaurant. This role is ideal for an ownership-minded operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at building teams, and understands how to balance hospitality, culture, and financial performance.

The restaurant will feature approximately 150 seats, including outdoor dining, a full bar program, and a highly collaborative front- and back-of-house team. The General Manager will play a critical role in hiring, training, and developing the staff ahead of opening and will work closely with ownership to establish systems and operational standards.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor front- and back-of-house employees.
  • Build a positive, accountable, and hospitality-focused culture.
  • Lead all pre-opening hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
  • Create schedules and staffing models that support service and profitability.
  • Coach and develop future leaders within the organization.

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
  • Maintain high service standards and operational consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with culinary leadership and ownership.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Foster strong communication between front- and back-of-house teams.

Financial Management

  • Manage labor costs, scheduling, and operating expenses.
  • Analyze sales trends and key performance metrics.
  • Understand and actively manage prime costs, food costs, and labor percentages.
  • Partner with ownership to develop bonus metrics and financial goals.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of General Manager experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of P&L management, labor controls, and restaurant financials.
  • Proven experience leading teams through growth and change.
  • Pre-opening experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working alongside ownership in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience with POS systems and restaurant technology platforms.
