A growing mechanical construction and energy infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Estimator to join its team in Arlington, TX. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates for mechanical piping construction projects including industrial and energy infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate has experience working for a self-performing mechanical contractor and a strong understanding of welded piping systems and field installation methods. This is an in-office role working closely with leadership, project management, and operations teams to develop competitive and technically sound project bids.

Mechanical Construction Estimator Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $100,000 – $120,000 depending on experience

Mechanical Construction Estimator Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required (Civil Engineering considered)
  • 5+ years of estimating experience within mechanical construction or energy infrastructure
  • Experience working for a self-performing mechanical contractor
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical piping construction methods and materials
  • Experience estimating projects involving welded carbon steel and welded stainless steel systems
  • Familiarity with projects that include both underground and aboveground piping systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Mechanical Construction Estimator Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical piping and infrastructure construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and project requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, and equipment cost estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to develop competitive bid strategies
  • Identify potential project risks and cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process
  • Support project handoff to operations after successful bid awards
