Reliability & Asset Management Engineer – Transmission Lines
Hybrid | Spencer, IN Area
A leading electric cooperative is seeking a Reliability & Asset Management Engineer to support the long-term reliability, maintenance strategy, and asset management programs for transmission line infrastructure.
This role is responsible for evaluating transmission asset performance, analyzing reliability data, supporting compliance initiatives, and developing long-term maintenance and replacement strategies that ensure safe and reliable system operations.
What You Will Do
• Analyze transmission outage and reliability data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
• Evaluate transmission asset condition and remaining useful life
• Develop long-term maintenance, repair, and replacement plans
• Perform risk assessments and reliability analysis
• Support NERC and regional reliability compliance initiatives
• Collaborate with utility stakeholders, member systems, and industry partners
• Maintain asset management systems and reliability databases
• Recommend projects and operational improvements that enhance reliability and reduce costs
• Participate in industry organizations and stay current on emerging asset management practices
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the electric utility or power industry
• Knowledge of transmission systems, substations, utility maintenance, or reliability programs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with technical data, reporting, and asset management systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with transmission line maintenance or planning
• Asset management and reliability engineering experience
• NERC compliance exposure
• Utility asset health assessment experience
• Risk-based maintenance planning experience
Location
Hybrid position based near Spencer, Indiana.
Candidates must reside or relocate within approximately 1–2 hours of Spencer, IN.
