General Manager – Troy, NY

A respected hospitality group is seeking a polished and experienced General Manager to lead operations at a well-performing select-service hotel in Troy, NY. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact at a stable property with a tight-knit team and a history of internal promotions.

General Manager Benefits & Compensation

General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Significant tenure in prior roles; no companies less than 2 years tenure
  • Marriott select-service experience required
  • 3–5+ years hotel GM experience; must be comfortable presenting to ownership weekly
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred
  • Consistently professional appearance, high grooming standards, and confident presentation skills
  • Strong owner relations and guest service orientation

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Demonstrated success leading 100+ room properties
  • Experience working directly with property management groups on owner priorities
  • Track record of improving guest satisfaction scores and financial performance

General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a core team including the AGM, housekeeping manager, and chief engineer
  • Oversee all hotel operations, maintaining high standards for guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and team performance
  • Meet weekly with the property owner to review performance metrics, financials, and initiatives
  • Develop sales strategies and foster community relationships to drive business growth
  • Ensure compliance with all brand, company, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee budget administration, payroll, purchasing, and inventory management
