Director of Sales – Hotel – Shelton, CT

Join a respected hospitality group managing a full-service, small to mid-size hotel property. As Director of Sales, you’ll drive the strategic vision and sales execution for a dynamic hotel, directly shaping growth, team development, and the guest experience. This is an impactful leadership opportunity with direct alignment to upper management and the chance to influence market presence and revenue.

Director of Sales Benefits & Compensation

  • $90K–$100K base salary plus 25% annual bonus

Director of Sales Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience in hotels (full-service strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in group and corporate sales
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles
  • Proficiency in hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, or similar)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Director of Sales Preferred Background & Skills

  • Deep local market knowledge and established business relationships
  • Strategic thinker with tactical focus and analytical mindset
  • Collaborative leader skilled in coaching and team development

Director of Sales Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual sales and marketing plan to maximize revenue across all segments
  • Lead and mentor the Sales Manager, setting clear goals and supporting professional growth
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business from corporate, group, and social markets
  • Partner with operations, catering, and revenue management to align strategies and drive results
  • Network and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, CVBs, and business leaders
  • Conduct site tours, outside sales calls, and host client events to promote the hotel
  • Oversee accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and expense management
  • Ensure seamless handoff from sales to operations for group and event execution
