Accounting Manager – Geneva, AL

Accounting Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required due to Department of Defense contract work
• Offer contingent upon successful background and drug screen
• Significant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting
• Degree in accounting is a strong asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to deadlines
• Experience maintaining internal controls and overseeing audits

Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a small to mid-sized company
• Familiarity with the JOMAR system
• Prior supervisory experience with finance or accounting teams

Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee all plant accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and journal entries
• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with year-end audits
• Maintain internal controls and support the development of reliable financial systems
• Routinely collaborate with operations and production teams to monitor and analyze variances
• Compile, analyze, and report financial data to management, offering actionable recommendations
• Manage, train, and evaluate financial support staff
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and support grant or financing applications
• Submit required reports to tax and government authorities

This is a hands-on role for a proactive accounting professional who enjoys partnering with operations and driving both accuracy and efficiency on the plant floor.
