Executive Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Head Chef in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to give constructive feedback using compassion and emotional intelligence
  • Proven ability to uphold high standards for food quality, health, and kitchen safety
  • Strong understanding of kitchen financials, including GP, labor management, inventory, and stock control
  • Inspirational leader committed to achieving team success

Executive Sous Chef Preferred Background & Skills

  • Passion for building an inclusive team where individuals feel celebrated and valued
  • Solutions-oriented with the ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure

Executive Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, cultivating a positive and inclusive kitchen culture
  • Mentor and develop culinary team members at all levels
  • Ensure every dish meets exceptional culinary standards, empowering the team with skills and confidence
  • Uphold impeccable food safety, sanitation, and health protocols
  • Oversee kitchen financials, including COGS, labor, waste reduction, and inventory management
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on recruitment, training, and building a strong, accountable kitchen team
