Construction Superintendent | Charleston, SC

Construction Superintendent Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of experience as a superintendent overseeing mid-sized construction projects
At least 4 years of hands-on construction or trade experience
Experience managing field personnel, schedules, subcontractors, safety, quality, and budgets
CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30-hour, EM-385, and STS certifications (training available if needed)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer use
Must pass drug screening and criminal background check (including Department of Defense screening for base access)
Valid work authorization in the United States

Construction Superintendent Preferred Background & Skills

Degree or additional coursework in construction management, engineering, or related field
Background in government, military, or large commercial construction, especially design-build projects
Familiarity with Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM, or Revit
LEED Green Associate (GA) or Accredited Professional (AP) credentials
Bilingual Spanish/English skills

Construction Superintendent Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee all daily construction activities on-site, ensuring project goals and timelines are met
Lead safety initiatives and enforce compliance with regulations and standards
Manage and coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and project schedules
Maintain high-quality standards across all phases of construction
Facilitate effective communication with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
Monitor project progress, budget adherence, and document performance per contract requirements
