Grocery Buyer Requirements & Qualifications

3+ years of purchasing experience in a food-first industry
Proven experience managing the entire supply chain
Background in pricing, sourcing, marketing, negotiating, merchandising, inventory control, and logistics
Strong understanding of store operations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail

Grocery Buyer Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the supply chain including forecasting and inventory management
Monitor and assess market conditions to identify savings opportunities
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with corporate offices and store teams
Make strategic recommendations to improve purchasing efficiency
