Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant
- Passion for hospitality and commitment to exceptional service
- Proven track record of meeting key performance indicators
- Strong financial skills, including P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Coaching and mentoring abilities to support team member development
- Highly organized with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- DOH Accreditation and/or ServSafe Certification
Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cafe operations to ensure smooth functioning
- Inspire and energize the team, creating a positive workplace culture
- Build authentic guest relationships to foster regular patronage
- Maintain quality assurance and ensure all service standards are met
- Manage store profitability by controlling sales, cost of goods, and labor expenses
- Provide ongoing feedback and conduct performance reviews to aid team development
- Lead by example in Health & Safety compliance, including ServSafe standards
- Engage with the local community to uphold the company’s neighborhood value proposition
